Vietnam is home to some of the world’s finest coconuts, and at Sunshine, we take pride in connecting global buyers with nature’s most versatile fruit. Here’s a closer look at Coconut we export and why it matters.
We currently export six varieties to markets across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Each variety is graded, hygienically handled, and packed to international export standards.
Brown Coconut The brown coconut is our most classic and widely exported variety, fully matured on the palm over 11 to 12 months before harvest. At this stage, the coconut develops a thick, firm white meat and a naturally rich, slightly sweet water that sets it apart from younger varieties. It is the foundation of many coconut-derived products, including coconut oil, coconut milk, desiccated coconut, and copra. Processors and manufacturers across the food, cosmetic, and industrial sectors rely on brown coconuts for their high oil content and consistent yield. We source our brown coconuts from established farming regions in Vietnam, ensuring a stable supply throughout the year.
Dried Coconut Dried coconut is brown coconut meat that has been carefully dehydrated to reduce moisture content, typically to below 3%, making it shelf-stable and safe for long-distance international shipping. The drying process preserves the natural sweetness and flavor of the coconut without the need for preservatives or additives. It is one of the most versatile coconut products we export, finding its way into bakery goods, confectionery, granola bars, trail mixes, and health snack products worldwide. Our dried coconut is processed under hygienic, controlled conditions. Buyers in the food manufacturing sector particularly value its consistent texture, clean flavor profile, and extended shelf life.
Diamond Coconut The Diamond Coconut represents the pinnacle of our export range: a premium, hand-selected grade chosen for its uniform size, blemish-free shell, and exceptional overall quality. Each coconut in this category passes through a rigorous visual and physical inspection process before being approved for export. They are ideally suited for high-end retail environments, gourmet food brands, hotel and resort supply chains, and markets where presentation matters as much as product quality. The name reflects our commitment to offering buyers something truly above the standard a coconut that looks as good on the shelf as it performs in the kitchen. Diamond Coconuts are packaged with extra care to preserve their appearance throughout transit.
Whole Green Coconut The Whole Green Coconut is harvested young and exported in its full natural green husk, preserving freshness from the moment it leaves the farm. Inside, it holds an abundance of light, refreshing coconut water and a thin layer of soft, jelly-like meat that is highly valued in tropical beverage markets and wellness-oriented retail. Its vibrant green exterior also makes it visually appealing for display in fresh produce sections, beach bars, and health food stores. This variety is particularly popular in the Middle East, Europe, and parts of East Asia where demand for natural, minimally processed drinks continues to rise. We export Whole Green Coconuts in carefully padded and ventilated packaging to maintain freshness and minimize bruising during transit.
Press Button Coconut The Press Button Coconut is a consumer-ready innovation designed for modern retail and food service environments. Each coconut is pre-scored at the top, engineered so that the shell opens cleanly and easily with a simple downward press no knife, no tools, and no mess. This variety is especially popular with cafes, juice bars, beach resorts, supermarkets, and ready-to-drink beverage brands that want to serve fresh coconut water quickly and attractively. Beyond its convenience, the Press Button Coconut retains the same fresh, natural water quality of a whole young coconut, making it a premium offering in markets that value both function and experience. It has seen strong growing demand across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
Fresh Young Coconut The Fresh Young Coconut is harvested before full maturity and trimmed into the clean, white cylindrical shape widely recognized in supermarkets, spas, and juice bars around the world. It is prized for its generous volume of sweet, hydrating coconut water and its smooth, delicate meat that can be eaten directly with a spoon. This variety appeals strongly to health-conscious consumers, wellness brands, and premium food retailers who prioritize natural hydration and clean ingredients. The trimming process is carried out under strict hygiene standards to ensure the product arrives in perfect condition at its destination. Fresh Young Coconuts are exported with a short lead time to preserve optimal freshness, and we work closely with logistics partners to ensure cold chain requirements are met where needed.
Every shipment we send meets strict international grading and hygiene requirements. Our coconuts are sourced from trusted farms, inspected at the point of harvest, and packed under controlled conditions. We work with buyers across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond to ensure consistency in every order, from sample to full container.
The global coconut market has seen steady growth over the past decade, driven by rising demand for coconut-based food and beverage products, natural beauty ingredients, and plant-based alternatives. Understanding market trends helps buyers and exporters make smarter sourcing decisions.
From hydration to healthy fats, coconut products are backed by a growing body of nutritional research. This is a key driver of demand in Western health food markets and worth understanding for any buyer or distributor in the wellness space.
Exporting coconuts internationally requires compliance with phytosanitary standards, food safety certifications, and destination-country import regulations. Buyers are encouraged to work with certified exporters who understand these requirements.
